LET THE PRAISE BEGIN
Praise the LORD! Praise
God in his Temple!
Praise his strength in heaven!
Praise him for the mighty
things he has done. Praise his supreme greatness.
Praise him with trumpets.
Praise him with harps and lyres.
Praise him with drums and
dancing. Praise him with harps and flutes.
Praise him with cymbals.
Praise him with loud cymbals.
Praise the LORD, all living creatures! Praise the LORD!
Psalm 150 (GNB)
Merry Christmas everyone!
I’m so excited to write this
special season’s edition. I love Christmas simply because I get to kick back,
relax and spend valuable time with my family after a very demanding year. It’s
one of the times I truly enjoy—when I get to reflect on how my days, weeks and months
have been and to reflect on what I have done well and what I have not done well.
Lessons I learned, mistakes I made and the disasters I managed to avoid. As the
year gradually rolls to an end, it is important to take a moment to think back
on all that has transpired over the course of the year and not to dwell on
mistakes and regrets but to find reasons to be grateful—grateful to God for all
he has done.
So let’s count our blessings
right from the inception of 2013. I’m going to do mine right now—defining
January was a wonderful month that ushered in lots of new beginnings for me.
Loving February reaffirmed some decisions I had made and help me find my
pathway for the year. Marching March made me a mother again, as I welcomed my
lovely daughter into our home.
Amazing April reminded me to
number my days and apply wisdom to all I have done because I am not getting any
younger. Marveling May opened up a new opportunity for me and led me down a
trying road where I struggled with my health. Remember June? A wonderful season
of enlargement and new beginnings—I moved into my land of peace and survived a
major surgery. Judicious July was a bittersweet month—my nephew was born, and I
buried my Grandma.
Revealing August! Wow, it was a
great revelation for me as God opened me up to new possibilities. Stunning
September left me breathless, as I signed up for an amazing job and prepped to
return back to work after 365 days of being a full-time mom. Restoring October
brought me back to my place in God’s presence.
Indeed, in November, he made me a
symbol of his blessings. Looking back, it has been a great year, and I’m glad
we got to spend some time together. As the year gradually comes to an end, I
want to encourage you to focus on all the good things God has done. Take your
eyes off the things that didn’t happen and fix your thoughts on the blessings
he brought upon your life. As you do, in Dancing December, God will crown your
year with goodness, and your path will overflow with abundance.
It’s Christmas, so let the praise
begin!
