Endearing Beauty

 

Listen to me, O royal daughter; take to heart what I say. Forget your people and your homeland far away. For your royal husband delights in your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord. Psalm 45: 10-11 (NLT)

My dad loves art works and it’s evident by the décor of our home. The most fascinating art work in the house is an iron sculpture of a man dressed in opulence standing tall with his head held high and his strong chin lined with authority. When looking at this piece of art all you see is this proud powerful man. However if you turn the sculpture around it reveals a stunning frame. It’s a woman clothed with grace, bowed slightly, with warm eyes and an inviting smile.

 

For years I was fascinated by the artist’s creativity but I didn’t understand the message.  The only way the artist could have molded these two figures into one perfect sculpture was if one was standing tall and the other one bowing. The next time the man in your life stands tall, proud and powerful, take a bow in humility and with wisdom. That's the only way it works.
