New lessons
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs”. 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 NIV
I read this verse this morning and it got me thinking, if
this is the definition of love then I have got a long way to go.
Patience flies out the windows when my kids start fighting or I’m stuck in
traffic. Kindness takes a back seat when someone is mean to me. Envy rears its
ugly head when someone is living the life I dream of. Pride shows up when I
finally hit that mark I aimed for. Dishonor sounds just about right for someone
that forgets to show respect. Self-seeking interest falls right in line at the
workplace. Anger jumps up when my hubby doesn't see my point of view. And yes
even with my selective amnesia, I still find it hard to forgive somethings.
So how can we truly live a life of Love? By submitting to
the Holy Spirit – and this I have come to realize is quite easy to do. Just
listen and obey. Simple.
New lessons I’m learning today, just thought to share.
