Planted by Streams of Living Water

Image
“ Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord , and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers .” — Psalm 1:1-3 (NIV)   To love God’s Word and meditate on it day and night is to live like a tree planted by streams of living water. This is the picture Psalm 1 paints for us—firm roots, steady growth, and fruitfulness in every season. Staying rooted in Scripture keeps you evergreen—full of life, strength, and the ability to withstand whatever storms may come.   Think of a tree by a riverbank. Its roots are not easily shaken, because they draw life from a constant, unfailing source. That is the life God promises to those who delight in His Word: a life nourished from within, not drained by circums...

The Purpose of Trials in a Christian's Life

Image
Welcome to God's School!   You were auto enrolled in this educational journey when you gave your life to Christ. At that moment, when you believed in your heart and confessed with your mouth that Jesus is the son of God, you were signed up for a lesson by default.   The curriculum for this School is based on one book – The bible. It emphasizes the principles to live by to work out your salvation daily and live up to the calling of the new life you have in Christ. Joyful Morning Starter

Image
A great way to start your day is to spend time with God. You find Joy and strength to face your day when you spend some time daily in the presence of God. I have a set time I get up every morning and a place in my home where I sit every morning to pray and be with God. I usually have a few things to help me get the best from my Me Time With God. I have my bible, a notepad, a pen, a sticky note and a cup of tea. Your time with God sets the tone for your day. So don't rush off into the morning without praying. Listen to God as you read the bible and write down ideas He puts in your mind. A joyful morning starts with God, don't forget that. Here are a few things to get you started. https://amzn.to/3AwbkLp

The integrated, functional and purpose-driven woman

Image
Juggling is an act, and no one understands the act of managing many moving parts better than women do. Think about work, kids, family, community, and all the other things we are responsible for or involved in. This balancing act is critical to ensure we are happy and successful in all areas of our lives. One thing that helps us maintain balance is being authentic–that is, true to who we are and who we were called upon by God to be. As a woman, I find myself dealing with the many areas of my life —family, career, relationships, self-worth, and Christian living— which may, at times, be in conflict with the other areas. It’s a constant challenge to make decisions that benefit every area of my life. However, to function holistically,   I need to find ways to integrate these different areas so they all work together. I have come to realize that one of the ways to do this is to figure out what God’s plan is for each area of my life and to focus on accomplishing that plan...
