Your meritorious service in Bosnia, Yugoslavia, Pakistan, NIBATT 21 ECOMOG Liberia, Joint Task Force in the Niger Delta amongst so many others. As we celebrate our fallen heroes today, I celebrate you my standing father who gave his life in service to ensure peace within and outside our boarders. I am very proud to be a military brat and the daughter of a General. God bless our service men and women. God bless you Daddy. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

When I took the day off work today I had no idea just how much I was going to need the time off. I set out this morning ready to go about my usual routine and then somewhere on Lekki Epe expressway my car just stopped. The engine stopped running and it glided to a halt at the side of the road. As a road user one of my most dreaded moments are moments like this when your car decides it needs a break, unannounced.   I got out of the car and watched my driver try in vain to figure out what was wrong and since he didn’t have any technical knowledge about cars I wasn’t surprise when his diagnostic session ended with no result.   I called my husband and he offered to rescue me, so I decided to sit it out until he arrived. Five minutes into my wait I remembered the road we were driving one was a tolled road that was being managed by Lagos Concession Company and one of the benefits they have been publicizing was that when in distress they would come to your rescue for free. I just watched Noah (2014) by Darren Aronofsky and I have to say I was completely disappointed at the way a very straight forward bible story was twisted to depict something completely incorrect. First off if you read the actual Noah story in the bible from Genesis 6 the story is crystal clear – The generations of men on earth had sinned and God wasn’t going to deal with the transgressions of men anymore- he was going to destroy the whole earth. But Noah and his family found grace in God’s sight because of Noah’s righteousness.

                     This really is the day the Lord has made Because over three decades ago I was born on a day like this All through the years God had kept is word to me And as I celebrate my special day today I renew my vow to him - to keep his word and follow him.
